Influence of lighting on a mood of photograph – proposal

For my T&P project I want to create a series of portraits using different lighting methods to create various mood effects. Models will have different facial expressions and poses to strengthen the effect.

I will use hard light and low key for the aggressive photographs, soft lighting and quite light mid key for relaxed and tender shots, beauty dish for cheerful images, soft light and dark mid key for enigmatic photographs.

I’ll shoot in raw because the images will definitely need some retouching in the process of post-production. I’m planning to shoot in the studio because of two reasons: there is no environment affecting the mood and you have full control over the lighting. The images will be in colour because I want them to look lively.

I suppose this type of images could be used as commercial portrait photography, in advertisements and as personal studio portraits.
